Bye-bye Boys!

Adam and I got dropped off at the airport this morning by Karla and the boys. It was the first time I've left the crew and felt sad when saying goodbye. We know they are in good hands and we could both really use some R&R.

Mexico, here we come!!!

A little slice of paradise!

Our hotel is amazing and just what we needed. The grounds are lovely, but we may not see much of them since our accommodations are so fabulous. Our private villa has two outdoor seating areas, a private pool, and a hammock that someone will need to drag me out of on Monday.  Just what the doctor ordered!

POTD - Haircut day!

Lukas made a complete mess of himself with yogurt at lunch today and then we were off to the barbershop for se much needed haircuts. We call this the "There's Something About Mary" hairdo.

Never a Dull Moment around Here!!

It's been ages since I was posting frequently.  Hopefully that will change now that I have a bit more control over my time.  As usual, we have lots going on here, so let me catch you up.

The boys can now play more together and Oliver is more tolerant of them wanting to play with him. Though we continue to spend a lot of our parenting energy breaking up fights about toys (we'd be more inclined to be hands-off, except Alex is still a biter- Ouch! and often the toy thief)

Alex & Oliver have gotten really good at sitting at the table and doing arts & crafts projects (and the dreaded Play Doh) together.  Lukas will last about 30seconds and then moves on to something else.

We used to always bathe the lil' ones together and Oliver separately, but now we are mixing it up a bit more, so that Alex and Lukas can also get a bit of one-on-one time with each of us.

Natalie, our au pair, got homesick and left us in late February.  We were sad to see her go, frequent childcare changes can't be good for the kids, but were fortunate that our Nanny from last summer was available and able to start immediately.  We actually had them overlap a bit in the end, which allowed Adam and I some nights on the town.  Call me crazy, but we really still love the idea of an au pair and are "this close" to matching with the au pair we hope will join us in August.

Very cool dinner tour of 3 restaurants we did with friends!
I left my job!  I finished last week and am using the month of March to recharge, get stuff done around the house, spend some quality time with the kids, and take a much needed mini-vacation with Adam.  I am also launching a brand new committee with the Junior League that I am very excited about which is also keeping me plenty busy.

My new company will officially launch in early April-- lots to do to get it off the ground!  I rented office space and will continue to work in the same building that I had previously been in.  I actually already have my first client!  The project is a bit obscure, but a great one to learn the ropes on and is funding some of my start-up costs.   This was the view when I was doing some work last weekend!

Hints of Spring

It's beginning to, finally, feel like Spring!!!  These are some photos back in late February when we had that one unseasonably warm Saturday.  We took the boys around the corner to play on St. Albans Street.  It turns out one of Oliver's favorite classmates lives on the block and we had a chance to talk to some other parents that live in the neighborhood.  Hopefully, we will see more of these families this Spring/Summer.

Later in the day, we had a playdate with one of Alex & Lukas's friends from our Mommy & me class.
