Since the weather on Saturday wasn't great, Oliver & I went up to the club solo the last time. The babies are awful in the car, and it wasn't worth the hassle of having them in the car 4 hours for a trip that wasn't a full two days. Omi slept over the bungalow with us on Saturday, which was a special treat. On Sunday, my cousin Billy & Julie brought Nathan over for the day. The boys had so much fun playing together, especially at the playground by the pool. Hopefully, we'll be able to have Nathan over again before the summer is over.

4th of July in NJ
After much back & forth, we ended up going to my Uncle Bill's 4th of July party and are SO glad that we did! The party had been scaled back (due to the heavy rains), so the party was more low-key than past years. The whole family had an absolute blast in the tree swing, the babies loved the pool, and Adam & I considered the day a success once we each had gotten to play a game of volleyball. While Oliver was bummed that none of his fellow BOND cousins were there to play with, he was not sad that he didn't have to share the Lightening McQueen car!

SAHM Activity
On July 3rd, Karla needed the day off, so I had the boys for the day - I was determined to get out and do something, so we wouldn't be stir-crazy. After the babies' 12mo doct visit (which coincided perfectly with naptime -ugh), we headed to Little Treehouse in Chestnut Hill to use up some free guest passes I had. It was a bit challenging keeping eyes on 3 kids going in different directions, but it wasn't crowded, otherwise I would have been in big trouble. Oliver's timidness in new surroundings actually works to my advantage for trips like this because I never have to worry that he is going to vanish out of my sight.

Twin's First Birthday Party
We hosted the babies birthday party at the bungalow and really lucked out with the weather. The party was everything I hoped it would be. We were low-key with just family attending - everyone brought something which made a big difference. Set-up wasn't too stressful and there were many hands to clean up. After lunch, cake, and presents, everyone suited up and we headed down to the pool.
Lukas & Alex Turn One
We did it! We survived the first year! Jana was still with us on their birthday, but left before the party the next weekend. I was able to work from home that day, so it was nice to get in extra smooches. They weren't particularly photogenic for our photoshoot this time around - thank goodness I had an extra set of hands to help out!
A visit from Grandma, Pop-Pop, & Tammy
Grandma & Pop-pop were going through baby/kiddo withdrawal, so they came up to Philly for the day, to see the babies for their birthday. The weather was perfect and everyone had a nice time at Taney Park. Oliver LOVES his superman shirt from Grandma (she had gotten the babies ones previously, and he's been wanting one too).
Hershey Happiness
My 2 day/1 night business trip to Hershey was a perfect one for Oliver and an au pair to tag along on. I will definitely figure out a way to get our new au pair (and/or Omi) with some of the kids to come along next year. Since this is a golf-centric event, the conference itself wraps up by noon each day, leaving me with my afternoons free. Not only is Hershey Park across the street, but they have lots of great amenities on site at the hotel as well.
On Monday, I dropped Oliver & Jana off at Hershey Park, literally across the street from the hotel, on my way to the conference. After Oliver had had enough of the kiddie rides, and was in need of some time out of the heat (and a nap), I went and got him. Jana stayed behind to ride some of the rollercoasters and took the shuttle back to the hotel after she was done. We had dinner together and once Oliver was tucked in bed, I left Jana to surf the internet, while I went down to the bar to do some networking.
Jana Visits!
Oliver was unbelievably lucky to have visits from both Pauline and Jana this summer. We had a two week gap between the visits, which worked well. While Jana was here, we spent one weekend at the bungalow and the other weekend in Philly -- going to the Saturday farmers market, Smiths Playground, and Please Touch Museum. She & Oliver also tagged along with me on a business trip to Hershey, which was a lot of fun.
