Family Fun

While Jana's mom was visiting, Oliver got to see & do lots of things including, a trip to Lambertville/New Hope, a visit to the zoo, outlet shopping in lancaster, multiple trips to King of Prussia, and visiting this cool place in Chestnut Hill that I had heard about called The Little Treehouse.  Lucky for me, Jana's mom has the photography-bug too, and shared photos of Oliver from their travels (more posts to come).

I love this photo (right).  It reminds me of "Where's Waldo".  I'm always amazed at how interested Oliver is to go exploring once he has gotten comfortable with his surroundings.  We were at a Borders the other day and since I had been in & out of 6 stores with him before that stop (held captive by the stroller), I let him out for a snack and an opporutunity to burn off some energy.  We were sitting less than 5min before he started walking around the corner down another aisle a good 10ft away from me in a crowded store.

As you can see, this place is a pretty good size (there's a whole other room in the basment (Gymboree-like).  They have a cafe and Jana reported that there were plenty of parents camped out on laptops at the tables keeping an eye on their kids from afar.  The quality of the toys was also better than Smiths, where we had taken Oliver a few weeks ago, with lots of Plan toys, which we love.  Frankly, they better be!  That was a volunteer, non-profit place and these guys charge an entrance fee.

Jana and Adam have taught Oliver to respond to "Wie gross bist du?" (translation: How big are you?).

It's very cute!
