Last year, we bought a bungalow (cabin) at the German club where I spent my summers growing up as a kid (dating back generations on my mom's side). The bungalow had been neglected by its previous owners and is going to require some elbow grease before we can start using it.

We have lots of projects we want to tackle, but won't get to them all this year. Our main project this summer will be getting it clean & furnished. Hello IKEA! We're going to get a new fridge, but will leave other (possible) kitchen upgrades for next year. We will be buying beds & nightstands, some patio furniture, and a grill - that will certainly add up! Adam wants to handle some closet improvements, which we can tackle one-by-one and don't need to do before we start sleeping over. We would also like to add a porch out the front, but will wait until this autumn - in the meantime, we will just use the concrete porch that is out there.

We are really looking forward to spending time here during the summer months - disconnecting from the hustle & bustle of city life. On the club grounds are a clubhouse, stream fed pool (brrr!), playground, and large field to run around on that will be great for Oliver & his cousins. And, it will allow us to come to Jersey, without imposing on my family - It will be so nice to have our own homebase! My dad also has a cabin, and my sister & mom became members again.
