Alex - Mr. Personality

Alex seems to be the family extrovert, though lately he's going through a very clingy, Mommy-phase, that I'm hoping disappears in the next month or so (similar to when Oliver's vanished).  While Oliver and Lukas tend to have more serious solemn faces, Alex is usually smiling and and pretty happy-go-lucky.  He makes this noise that sounds like "Ah, ha, ha" when he is running towards something he likes that always makes me smile.

Things to Remember:
  • Alex loves playing with balls.  He loves throwing them, pointing them out in books, and stealing them from other kids at the playground.
  • Seemingly overnight, Alex became a Mickey-lover.  If someone at the playground has a Mickey, Alex can focus on nothing else and just wants to walk up to them and point to their shirt, bookbag, etc... pointing and babbling.
  • Alex easily has the most fan in the pool, at the beach, and in the tub.  He's happy to splash around and loves the water.
  • Alex has hit many of this social/vocal milestones earlier.  He's been clapping and waving for a long time, something that Lukas only recently started doing with any frequency.
  • It's as if a light switch just turned on his brain -- over the last weekend, Alex started saying "Oliver", "Opa", and "Apple".  He can say Oliver unbelievably clear at times and it makes your heart melt when you hear it - that's not an easy word!  We can also say Mama, Dadda, BA (which is used for book, bottle, and ball).  Everything else gets a shriek.  This kid has a set of lungs on him!  I've nearly dropped him on the steps after he has screamed in my ear.
  • When Alex wakes up, he wants out of his crib immediately - you would think there was a fire in the room with the urgency he wants to be out and with you.
  • This kid is super photogenic!
