We decorated our Christmas tree with Pauline, our new au pair, last night and now the house feels very Christmas-y. I am in love with our tree. We have tons of wooden German Christmas ornaments and lots of sterling silver ornaments/bells and red balls. All we are missing is something to go on top - Oops!
Oliver has been cracking us up lately, here are a few of his Christmas memories....
Adam taught him what Santa looks like and that Santa says "Ho, Ho, Ho". Very cute to hear "ho, ho, ho" in a toddler voice. He can also identify the reindeer & snowman on our stockings. He says "Christmas tree" and "lights" ALL the time.
Last night, Oliver dragged his little stool into Pauline's room and plopped down in front of her mini(our former) tree to admire. He kept saying "ooohh!".
This morning, I got the hand-me down Christmas goose out, so we had somewhere to put all of the Christmas cards we have been receiving. Lately, Oliver has been wanting to sit in EVERYTHING - baskets, tupper containers, anything he can get his hands on - even an empty diaper-wipe container (which is pretty hysterical). So, it came as no surprise, that multiple times throughout the day, we found him sitting in the swan (which he calls a duck - quacking!)
One of the many sweet things that Jana brought us from Germany was an Advent calendar for Oliver. The most frequently said phrase in our house these days is "Piece of chocolate?"
