I headed to Jersey with the rugrats solo this past weekend. After the last weekend trip without Adam I was a bit nervous how things would go, but it went amazingly well (phew!). Adam had been to Delaware with the boys to visit Pop-pop and Grandma the previous weekend, so it was his turn to get some downtime at home. (Lee Ann - got any photos from the visit?)
On Saturday, we drove up to Opa & Mormor's. After the usual uneasiness around Barney (and I can't say that I blame him!), Oliver did finally get more comfortable and had fun playing with matchbox cars and the HoJo Motel (Ah, toys from thes 70s!) up on a stepstool, a safe distance from the excitable furball. The babies were happiest playing with empty cookie tins and everyone was extremely well behaved during dinner. Afterwards, Oliver got to play (well, watch Opa tinker) with my dad's old electric train set from when he was a kid that is set up in the basement.
On Sunday, we went to Robin's for a cousin playdate. Oliver was very excited leading up to the visit and is still enthusiastically talking about it, but didn't seem to be having all that much fun while we were actually there and was a bit clingy to me. Bentley is definitely more rambonxious than Oliver and Oliver doesn't do too well with loud, let alone rough-housin' kids. The boys were great sharers, especially taking turns playing tee-ball. The babies were happy playing with Preston's toys (Robin had lots of sanitizing to do after we left!).

This photo of Preston fleeing from the little-cousin picture, reminds me SO MUCH of the photo from Memorial day when the big-cousins were little and Bentley and Oliver were constantly crawling off mid-photo!
complete coincidence that Oliver & Bentley were wearing the same shirt!
It looked like Robin was running a daycare out of her kitchen!
They were great at taking turns!
