Things to Remember: Month 7

Another month is behind us and Oliver is a crawling fiend.  He's gotten incredibly mobile and can really truck around the house now - getting into all kinds of trouble.  (He nearly face-planted off of this chair while I was taking this photo - you really have to be on your toes when you are around him.)  Lil' Man's balance has gotten a lot better and he's learned how to sit/squat back down after standing up, so he's banging his head less - thank goodness!

Oliver's favorite pasttime includes pulling himself up - on the babygate, on my office furniture, on a step stool, on the coffee table, and of course, on Mommy.  He's also still a very big fan of cruising around in the exersaucer -- he goes so fast now that he actually moves the center base (which is supposed to stay in one place) and sometimes moves it so much that he can't keep doing laps because he's hitting a piece of furniture or a wall.  He's also a VERY big fan of walking when his hands are held and using the new blocks/walker.

This kid is always moving, even when he's over-tired, he does not sit still.  Ever.  We definitely didn't get a quiet snuggler.  The only time he is somewhat quiet is when he has just woken up from a nap and still waking up.  I believe my parents will confirm that he has gotten this delightful trait from his Mommy.

Unfortunately, Oliver gets no awards for his sleeeping ability.  He still hasn't adjusted since we switched the clocks back and we're all getting up pre-6am - today it was PRE-5AM.  Ugh.  And he routinely only naps for 30min at a stretch.
Jana taught Oliver how to High-5 and he sticks his hand out to do it (unprompted) whenever new people are around.

"Ab ba ba ba ba" is one of the best sounds in our house.  He's been saying it for about a month now and its just the cutest thing.  I think he's a little behind on the verbal development, but nothing concerning.

We continue to incorporate new foods into Oliver's diet.  He eats just about everything we give him, although he hasn't been a big fan of green vegetables - peas, zuchinni, or avocado.  In the coming weeks, we'll be feeding him solid food twice a day.  I'm looking forward to the day he's off of the formula entirely.
