May Weddings

In the second half of May, Adam and I attended an impressive three weddings.  Cousin Bill's wedding landed the same night as a college friend of ours, but the weddings were conveniently held less than 30min away from one another, so we were able to spend Friday night and the better part of Saturday with our friends hanging out in Princeton, before heading to the family wedding, and then rejoined the Dickinson crew, at the end of the evening.

I feel so lucky to have this great group of friends -- there is a core group of us (a subset of those in those photo) that have managed to find one weekend a year to carve out away from the stress and craziness of our lives to come together.  Last year, around this time, we all went back to Carlisle together.  We are always able to pick up where we left off, can lean on one another for support and advice, and there is never any drama.

Our Tampa-friends were missing, but out of this group of friends, 6 of the 8 couples are Dickinsonians -- pretty crazy!

The following weekend, after 28 years together, Papa and Margit decided to finally make things official. After a small church service with immediate family and close friends that made the trek from Belgium, we enjoyed a nice dinner.  The following day he had a family wedding picnic, so all the grandchildren could also be involved.

Ahhhh - heads in the middle!
remaining "non-married's" fighting for the bouquet

I took the opportunity to try and get a nice family photo that day (since we don't have a good one of all five us dating back to October (!!!!), but this was as good as it got.   How great are these coordinated shirts the boys are in?  Oh, Oliver!
