Our "Not a Snow" Day

Still trying to catch up on some old posts....

A few weeks ago there was supposed to be a HUGE snowstorm that never materialized.  Both Oliver's daycare and the twin's preschool shut down in anticipation of Snow-maggedon.  But, where was the snow?  While Boston got clobbered (something like three Mondays in a row), we got barely a sprinkle.  Lena had recently injured her wrist/hand really badly, so I didn't want her home with all three boys an extra day, so I "worked from home", which really meant that between getting up super early and the boys nap, I was able to squeeze in about 2 hours in front of my computer.

This was how the day started: The twins watching TV on the ipad, to keep quiet while Oliver slept in our bed (a rarity) and I tried to finish a project in the office.

After breakfast, I went outside to shovel; not because there was much snow, but because our doorbell would ring repeatedly by those hoping to make some money shoveling, if I didn't.  Oliver came out to help me, and then Alex and Lukas didn't want to be left behind, so we ended up all being outside (in our PJs) to shovel.  Look at all that snow we got!  Of course, had I known they would have more fun shoveling than they would when we would take them out later, I would have let them stay out longer!

Later in the morning, Lena and I got the kids all dressed up and we went out to the playground with snow paint we had gotten from Uncle Carl.

The most fun part of the outing for Lukas was the hot chocolate he got to drink afterwards.  Alex thought it was pretty yummy too.

Oliver was having so much fun, and wasn't ready to come inside.  So he continued to paint out in our backyard.  This is the disaster that our front room looked like, after an outing in the snow!
