Oliver's Birthday Weekend

Oliver's birthday fell on a Sunday this year.  We have plans for a joint birthday party with the brothers this summer at the bungalow, so we kept it pretty low key. On Saturday, Grandma & Pop-pop came over for a celebration (photos pending)

After nap, we took the kids to Smith's Playground.  Unfortunately, it was super hot and crowded.  Poor lil' guys had a Mommy that had them dressed in long-sleeves and pants.  The highlight of the trip was sitting and having a snack on the way back to the car.  We found a ladybug and Lukas and Oliver had fun letting it walk on their arms - they were fascinated!

On Sunday, we opened up presents at home and had yummy Pfannekuchen breakfast before heading to Jersey for a small celebration.  Oliver got, by request, a scuba mask and snorkel, and some homework books (he sees the afterschool kids at preschool doing homework and wants to do some too).  We also got him Mario Kart for the Wii.

Omi hosted a small party with Devon and Tante Nicole.  With non-napping brothers, the outing was stressful for everyone in Omi's condo.

It's hard being three and celebrating someone else's birthday, where THEY get the presents.  Poor Devon!

After lunch, we thankfully relocated to Kristy and Ray's to meet the newest cousin, Baby Holly (finally a girl!) and play with the cousins.  We got to Kristy's and Alex was freaking out and none of us couldn figure out why.  He didn't want a blue cupcake, he didn't want a brown cupcake, what was it??  Finally, we figured it out, he was mad that we kept giving him little cupcakes.  He was so content once he finally got his hands on a big one!

It was still pretty warm and the littlest trio (PAL) happily stripped down to their birthday suits (so many Not-Suitable-To-Share photos!) As usual, Oliver kept a safe distance from all the splashing and water fun... Should be interesting to see what he is like at the bungalow this summer.  Hopefully, we can get him over his water hang-up so he can have fun with the others.
