We celebrated the Fourth of July with the Braunschweiger clan - the party was delayed a day due to weather, which unfortunately meant Adam couldn't join us (he had a Vorstand meeting that night at the SSC). The boys had such a blast driving around the in the Lightening McQueen car and four-wheeler. Alex can actually drive solo, which is a bit terrifying, but Lukas is too small. Next year they will all want to drive! Oliver kept driving over to us and telling us that Alex wanted to get out. Nice try buddy -- you are stuck with a passenger!
The kids did great in the pool, even though I wasn't too keen on going in (it wasn't that hot out!). We were so proud of Oliver, who is slowly by surely getting over his water hang-ups. He did great floating around in the new tube.
There were many hands on-deck, including my cousin Brian's friends, to help me out with the boys. Unfortunately, in environments like this Lukas is super clingy and is only really happy when he's tethered to me. Thankfully, Kristy and my mom hauled all the (wailing) boys to the basement, so I could have some fun and play some volleyball -- success! We had to leave well before the fireworks, which is a bummer. Looking forward to when the kids are older and we don't need to be so bedtime-focused.
