6 Month Doc Appointment

Last Friday we took Lil' Man to the doctor.  He had been in the 75% for both height & weight, but is now just in the 50% for weight (weighing in at 17lb 4oz).  The doctor told us that it isn't uncommon for mobile babies to see a slow-down in weight gain since they are burning so many calories motoring around.

 At our last doc appointment (4 months), we were told that Lil' Man should be sleeping through the night by now.  From that day on, he did.  At this appointment, I mentioned that he's a lot less verbal now than he was just a month ago and the doc told us that when babies are focused on one thing (in this case gross motor skills/ mobility), other things may lag.  It's pretty common and she expected that he'd get increasingly verbal over the coming months.  Since then (starting that afternoon!), Lil' Man has been a babbling machine.  I joked with Adam & Jana that we should keep in mind that Lil Man is such a good listener when he's at the doc's office - maybe we should bring up the subject of potty training!  If only it were that easy!
