Things to Remember: 6 Months

I haven't started assembling Lil' Man's baby book yet and thought posts like this would be a good way to remember milestones that I can use as my cheat-sheet when I finally get around to it.

Peek a Boo has become a big hit in the house recently - especially when Daddy plays, who is much more animated than I am.  It's become a cute part of our morning routine that Adam plays Peek A Boo with Lil' Man when he gets out of the shower and the two of us are still snuggled up in bed.  Giggles from a baby is a fabulous way to start the day!  Lil' Man can also pull a blanket off of his own face and is so proud about it!

Over the last two weeks Lil' Man has become a pro at pulling himself up and grabbing anything and everything he can get his hands on.  In particular, he likes to pull himself up on my office filing cabinet, the newly installed babygates, and most of all, the coffee table and his crib - where he proceeds to gnaw on the wood with his bottom two teeth.  Crazy kid!  I mentioned this at work and someone else had a kid that went through this chewing-on-furniture phase.  Very weird. 

He's ticklish!  Especially his feet.  Tickling him is a great distraction from the overtired wimper we contend with between dinner & bedtime during cranky hour.

Lil Man LOVES his exersaucer!  We just switched from one where the baby sits in the middle to one that allows him to walk around in circles and he is in baby-heaven.  If you haven't seen it yet, check out the video. We are so fortunate for the family that have lent us their baby things.I can't believe how many baby things we had in the basement that Oliver has already grown out of needing - the stuff is now in Jersey ready for Baby Denver to make his entrance!

Lil Man's becoming a pro at crawling.  He'd probably be better at it if he didn't need to contend with the slippery hardwood floors that are unavoidable in our house.  He can get about halfway from the large TV on the first floor to the kitchen before he runs out of steam - won't be long before he can make the whole trip.   He also enjoys the speed that he can motor around when someone holds his hands and lets him walk.  Again, the hardwood floors, coupled with the booties on most of his pants make it a bit tricky for him - Thank goodness for socks with treds. 

With this newfound mobility has also come a bout of separation anxiety.  I'm hopeful this is just a phase.  While Lil' Man used to be able to be passed around to anyone, he's no longer interested in being held by anyone if I'm in eyeshot.  If I hand him off and leave the room, he wimpers for a second and then is fine. 

He can put his pacifer in his mouth on his own - big fan of this one!  And has gotten pretty good at holding his own bottle. 

He loves fruit pops - we put a teaspoon of juice and lots of water in a rocket pop and let him suck on it some nights before bathnight.  He's in baby heaven.  Its the ONLY thing that he will cry for if we take it away from him.
