For some time now one of Oliver's favorite imaginary games has been "Scary Monster". We never had an incident of him BEING afraid of a monster, so I'm not sure how this game even started. Regardless, the game goes like this: Oliver exclaims "Scary Monster {insert location in the room}" (behind the chair! on the steps! in the fridge!) and Adam or I have to go over to the designated location and say "Go away, Scary Monster!". Oliver then tells us the next location of the scray monster and the game continues.
Yesterday at dinner, I finally asked if Scary Monster was friendly, so we began calling him Friendly Scary Monster (FSM). Oliver informed us that he was hungry and FSM sat down next to Oliver at the dinner table. It felt a bit funny for Adam and I to be talking to FSM, but I'm sure we'll get used to it. So far, the perk to this is that FSM convinced Oliver to take a couple more bites of his dinner.
